Grand Popo's tranquil setting played host as I traveled to Benin to join the retreat for the UN Communications Group this January.

Our mission was clear: craft a new communications strategy aligned with the 2023-2026 UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. The review of our previous strategy set the tone, with each member contributing invaluable insights.

I presented 10 key steps to produce a communications strategy, guiding our alignment with global priorities. Subsequent sessions sparked discussions on UN days to commemorate in 2023 and the significance of our shared initiatives.

We departed with a preliminary communication strategy, a list of UN days, and with reinforced team bonds.

Leaving Grand Popo, I cherished not just the plans, but our team's renewed purpose. To the future of UN communicators in Benin!
