I had the privilege of attending the 2023 UN Information Centre Directors Workshop in Bonn, Germany. Between 19 and 23 June, UNIC Directors and senior managers from the UN Department of Global Communications gathered around the theme: “Communicating in the age of disinformation.”

The effects of the Ukraine war, the evolution of our global campaigns, especially the Sustainable Development Goals and climate action, and other key topics were discussed. We highlighted the role of UNICs in maintaining information integrity and fighting against hate speech, misinformation, and disinformation.

The workshop featured memorable sessions, including the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum, engagements with ARD media on AI and misinformation, and insights from the Bonn Institute.

Leaving Bonn, I felt a strong belief in our mission. In this age, the UN's commitment to truth and communication is vital. Reflecting on the week, I am filled with determination and optimism for the journey ahead.
